Yealink IP Desk Phone Initial Setup with Voradian Zero Touch Provisioning

Voradian telephony platform utilizes our Zero Touch Remote Provisioning Servers (RPS) to automatically and remotely configure, initialize, and deploy telephony services on Yealink IP desk phones, eliminating the need for an on-site technician.

When you purchase desk phones from Voradian store, it will be shipped to you from one of the four Voradian fulfillment centers located in New York, Nevada, Ohio, or Ontario, Canada. Once delivered to your shipping address, you should immediately open the box containing the desk phone and make sure that all components are present. If you are missing any item, you must notify us immediately or within 24 hours of receiving the delivery. At a minimum, you should have the following items in the box:

  • 1 Yealink desk phone
  • 1 Desk phone adjustable stand
  • 1 Power adapter (Power adapter may not be included if your power source setup is via a PoE switch. Power adapter may be delivered separately)
  • 1 Handset
  • 1 Handset cord
  • 1 Ethernet cable

Setting up your desk phone and enabling inbound and outbound calling is easy. Follow the steps below.

1. Connect the handset cord into the handset RJ11 port and plug the other end of the cord to the RJ11 handset port located either on the left side or back of the desk phone, depending on the model.

2. Connect the Ethernet cable into the RJ45 jack located on the back of the desk phone that's labeled "Internet", and the other end into the RJ45 wall jack in your office for your internet connection. If using PoE, this should enable power supply to your phone. Once power is enabled, the phone will automatically turn on. There will be a brief moment where all the lights on the phone may be flashing. (If so, skip step 3 below and go to step 4).

3. Connect the power adapter, if applicable, into the power port located on the back of the desk phone and plug the adapter to your power source. Once power is enabled, the phone will automatically turn on. There will be a brief moment where all the lights on the phone may be flashing.

4. When the lights stop flashing, locate the navigation button on the front of the phone (a circle with an OK button surrounded by four arrow buttons). Press and hold the "OK" button for approximately 10 seconds or until a pop up modal shows on the screen indicating: "Factory Reset?". Touch the OK soft key on the desk phone screen (or on the button adjacent to it) and wait for the phone to connect to our servers. Allow the phone to reboot, initialize, and recycle.

WAIT! Do not do anything to the phone during this cycle. When the phone completes its rebooting, it will display your extension number(s) on the top left row of line keys along with other customized configurations, if applicable, on other available line keys. You are now ready to make and receive calls.

5. Test your connections: Pick up the handset and listen for a dial tone. Dial an external phone number such as your mobile or another phone number. If you are able to complete that call, your outbound connection is successful. Using an external phone number such as your mobile, make an inbound call to your extension. If you are able to complete that call, your inbound connection is successful.

6. Test your Emergency E-911 Service: Pick up the handset. Listen for the dial tone. Dial 933. DO NOT DIAL 911. Wait for an automated voice response. Listen carefully to the voice response and follow the instructions if any. The automated response system should announce your service location address.

Make sure that the address relayed is the correct address for the physical location of your desk phone. If the address information announced by the 933 automation is incorrect, contact VORADIAN support as soon as possible to correct this information in your local PSAP (Public Safety Access Point) database. This is the physical address location dispalyed to emergency services personnel (911 operator) when you dial 911 from your phone.

If you have incorrect address information for the device/phone in the PSAP database, your 911 call is redirected to a national emergency response center to attempt a geo-location of your call origination. Such a call is charged at US$250.00 per call and will be passed on to the customer on the next invoice.

If your service account permits mobile connection/App for your extension, this is a good time to set that up. Depending on the type of mobile service you are subscribed to, you can download the Voradian app for iOS and Android at their respective stores. Speak with your Voradian Account Manager or Sales Representative for more details.
