Yealink Desk Phone Wi-Fi Setup With A USB Dongle

Certain Yealink IP desk phone models are manufactured with built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, in addition to standard wired ethernet connection. Many other models can be enabled for Wi-Fi connectivity using a Yealink Wi-Fi Dongle. Yealink offers two (2) models of dongles that are compatible with specific models of phones.

You may purchase a compatible dongle from Voradian store by contacting a Voradian sales agent or your Account Manager. Alternatively, you may purchase a Yealink USB dongle from any authorized Yealink product distributor. However, we would only support products purchased from Voradian.

Yealink WF50 Dual Band USB Wi-Fi Dongle: Compatible with Yealink SIP T42U/ T43U/ T46U/ T48U/ T52S/ T54S/ T53 IP Phones (Version 84 or later).

Yealink WF50 is a next-generation dual band Wi-Fi USB Dongle, designed to allow users to select whether to connect to a 2.4GHz (150 Mbps) Wi-Fi network or a 5GHz (up to 433 Mbps) Wi-Fi network. With wireless connections transmitting over the 5GHz band, users no longer need to worry about the interference from nearby wireless devices which may interfere with their wireless signal, guaranteeing high-quality connections perfect for establishing calls and HD video streaming. Yealink WF40 Single Band USB WiFi Dongle: Compatible with Yealink SIP T27G/ T29G/ T46G/ T48G/ T41S/ T42S/ T46S/ T48S/ T52S/ T54S/ T53. For Yealink model T48G: upgrade to the firmware version of 35.80.0.95 or higher. For Yealink models T29G/ T46G/ T46S/ T48S: upgrade to the firmware version 81 or higher. For Yealink models T27G/ T41S/ T42S: upgrade to the version of x.81.0.110 or higher.

General Wi-Fi Setup Procedure For Yealink IP Desk Phone

To set up Wi-Fi on your Yealink IP Desk Phone, you'll first need a compatible Wi-Fi dongle, like the Yealink WF50 or WF40. Plug the dongle into the USB port located in the back of your Yealink desk phone. Then, you'll configure the connection through the phone's settings or web interface.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Connect your desk phone to a power source, using the provided power adapter.
2. Insert the Wi-Fi Dongle: Plug the Yealink WF50 or WF40 Wi-Fi dongle into the phone's USB port. 
3. Access Settings: From the phone's idle screen, navigate to "Menu" > "Settings" > "Basic Settings" > "Wi-Fi". 
4. Enable Wi-Fi: Turn Wi-Fi on. 
5. Scan for Networks: If you don't see your network listed, press the "Scan" soft key to search for available networks. 
6. Select Network: Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list. 
7. Enter Password: If your network is password-protected, enter the password. 
8. Connect: Press the "Connect" soft key to establish the connection. 
9. Verify: Check the network status on the phone's screen; it should show a green network status once connected. 
10. Test Call: Make a test call to ensure the connection is working correctly. It is recommended that you dial an outside telephone number (10 digit), instead of an extension number within your company.

Alternative: Web User Interface Configuration

You can also configure the Wi-Fi connection through the phone's web user interface. Navigate to "Network" > "Wireless Network" on the web interface, enable Wi-Fi, and then scan for networks.
