Call Handling with Star Codes

Solution

Star Codes and Features

Many features in the VoradianEdge platform are controlled by dialing the star (*) key in conjunction with a 2 or 3 digit number. The default star codes are listed below. These may be customized per domain (account) by the Voradian Engineering Control Center at an additional programming and service charge.

Reserved Number Space

Certain sets of 3, 4, and 5 digit numbers should NOT be used as extensions. Please be aware of these Reserved Number Space when planning your extension schema to avoid any conflicts with dial translations.

Star Code Feature Description

*** Dynamically Park a Call (dialing *** on an active call will place the caller into a parking orbit and announce the Park Orbit Number to you. (The caller will not hear the orbit number announcement or the DTMF tone of the star code). You can then announce this number to the party who'll be the recipient of the call.

* +{parking lot#} Park an active call to a specified parking orbit (Ex: *701). If your system is configured for Directed Park, you can Park a call to a specific 3 digit extension, and that call can be picked by any extension within your company.

*35 +{ext} Extension Pickup - Answer a Call that is ringing at another extension by dialing *35 and the ringing extension number. (Ex: *35 201)

Just launch the App on your mobile phone and dial *38, and the call from your desk phone automatically moves over to your mobile phone and the desk phone is disconnected from the call.
