A Hunt Group or Ring Group refers to a method for distributing incoming phone calls from a business' primary phone number or any single DID (telephone number) to a group of several Directed (DIREX) extensions and or external (off-net) telephone numbers. This is very useful in a multi-staff department operation scenario, such as Sales Departments, Service Departments, and Customer Support Departments, or for a traditional phone system answering setup scenario without the assistance of a PBX/ Auto Attendant for call routing or distribution. Inbound calls are routed to ring simultaneously to all user's desk phones and Voradian MobileReach SoftPhones on their smartphones, associated with the Hunt Group.
Example Scenario: Caller Presses 1 for Sales from the Auto Attendant or a live attendant transfers the call to Sales Department. Call is routed to all the sales representatives in the Hunt Group, ringing all their devices simultaneously. First person in the Hunt Group who answers the ringing device is connected to the caller. If no one answers after a certain number of rings or if the system detects all phones are busy, the call can be further routed to a voicemail, to an individual, operator, external phone number, another Hunt Group, or any other forwarding scenarios. Never miss an important call or an inbound sales call!
Note: Simultaneous Ring limit is up to 20 devices/ phones within a single Hunt Group. You can chain multiple Hunt Groups together, making unlimited number of devices to ring simultaneously.
