Hot Desking or Hoteling

Hot Desking (often referred to as Hoteling) allows multiple users to utilize a single device or allows users to sit at different physical locations and accept phone calls on the device in front of them. It is simply the ability to log into any phone on your company phone system, and have your user profile and settings populated onto that device. Because of this, you can go to any end point (desk phone) with in your company and log in, which tells your phone system to push your specific profile to that phone. With Hot Desking, your extension is whatever phone you’re currently logged into.

Hot Desking can help accommodate your efficient use of office space. “Hoteling” is a concept that has become more popular in corporate America. It allows workers to commute to the most convenient office, and to whichever work station they please, any given day. With Voradian's “Hoteling” capability the employee would log into the phone at that work station by dialing a star code and password. All of their calls and messages would now be sent to that desk phone.
